Drinking beer

I hear different things but is it legal to have a beer when you're carrying? Never done it but would like to know for sure. Im not talking drunk just one beer in a social setting.

There is no current Ga law that prohibits consuming alcohol while carrying a firearm. There is also no law that prohibits being drunk and possessing a firearm.

If you read the Ga code section that deals with this, you will however find that you cannot discharge a firearm under the influence.......except in self defense situations.

Ok cool, I'd never get drunk while carrying cause gun owners don't need that kind of attention these days.
