This is truly one of my pet peeves and the advent of daytime headlights has made stupid people even more stupid and forgetful when it's dark out too in addition to raining.

You could try and talk to the Solicitor and see if they would reduce it to a non-moving violation. If your driving record is clean, they might work with you. However since this is Fulton county, you might be SOL. If not, plea Nolo and take your lump on the head and move on.

You guys know I'm not an LEO basher but just playing Devils advocate here.

If there was nothing to it I don't think there would currently be a case pending concerning campus police before the Georgia supreme court.
There is definitely a difference between Capital police (State), Marta transit police (local), Postal police (Feds) they are all accountable to elected officials.
And Campus police (????)
The only thing that makes Tech a public research university is that they get approximately 19% of their budget from state tax dollars. In return they sell their services to those who can pass the entrance exams and pay the tuition worldwide not just to state residents.
HMM ? From sources i gleaned online the annual Tech budget is at $1,000,000,000 per year. Now I'm wondering what the taxpayers of the state get for their $100,000,000 a year or so in appropriations and grants???

If it's just extra cops that don't have to answer to public scrutiny and can to harass folks for traffic offenses we're getting ripped off.

I am 100% in favor of ticketing for this. During the snow I saw dozens of people driving without lights on. And when it's misting or pouring rain I see even more. How hard is it to turn on your lights ? I flash mine at folks to remind them, and more times than not, they just flash theirs back and still don't turn them on.

why would a warning not suffice?

i believe tickets and fines are for habitual offenders or those hwo really deserve it. sometimes folks just forget and being reminded is a good thing, but no reason to give shanqueqwa 50 to 75 bucks at the court for it

yep...As I said earlier people think if they can see it's ok not to turn lights on, but it is a safety issue people need to see you.

GTI is a state university, so all GTI UPD officers are state employees. That's what the language means. They do report to the University.
