Eastmans Gun Show

Here's the scam... Try it...

If you have a gun to sell, take it to an Eastman show. Find an individual and sell it to them for a fair price. You are more likely to sell to an individual at an Eastman show because the dealer prices are normally higher. The individuals are more likely to buy from another individual.

If you are wanting to buy from a dealer, you have to shop around and dicker with a few dealers before you get the price you want. Go on Sunday afternoon and you will be more likely to get a better price from a dealer or an individual for that matter. Nobody wants to take their guns home. They had rather take the cash home.

Here's my experience this last weekend at the Dalton Show.

I took an AK47 MAK-90, a Marlin 60 and a 1963 Sears(Marlin 80) .22 bolt action. I sold the AK47 and the Bolt Action .22 in record time. The Marlin 60 took longer to sell and I eventually traded it and $50 to another young guy for a Harrington&Richardson 12 gauge Ultra Slug gun with rifled barrel and a cheap scope. I then sold that slug gun to another individual and cashed out.

I then bought an AR15 Stripped lower, parts kit, collapsible stock and upper receiver with the money I got for the AK47. I took the money I had left and bought a brand new Ruger 10/22. I left happy with an AR15 (M4 Carbine) and a new 10/22.

There were more people than I have ever seen at a Dalton show on Saturday morning.

Go in late Sunday afternoon when everyone is starting to pack up, pick out your favorite gun and make an offer. If the dealer says no, put your cash back in your pocket and start to leave. Depending on how bad they want the sell, they may call you back.

I have seen dealers with a used gun sell it for $100 more at an eastman show then they would at there shop. The problem with Eastman is the guys that have been doing his shows for years set the price, if they don't have it, you can get a deal, if they have it, your out of luck.

my friend went to one and ended up trading his springfield milspec 1911 for something else, then he traded that something else for a enfield with ammo or something like that. sold that for 800 bucks

made out good selling a 1911 he paid 400 dollars for and had for a few years

*all transactions were made through private individuals. he didnt deal with the dealers or guys with tables*

I'll be going to fondle some weapons and hopefully there will be some reloading folks there. The guys from Tennessee that sell bulk bullets and powder have been MIA at the last 2 shows I went to. I rarely find gun deals but I do find deals on accessories, stocks, parts kits, ect. I take my time and wander past every table. It's supposed to rain Saturday so not a bad way to spend a few hours.
