economic collapse was predicted for sept....

Both are still pretty big. I doubt Elon is losing any sleep over it.
well, why would he? its his investors money lol, its not like his companies are producing profitable products (maybe some of his earlier companies that got bought out perhaps, but that was during the internet boom when large companies were buying any and everything)

SpaceX is profitable.

Tesla and the battery business will be profitable (if they survive).

Remember Musk isn't about making a buck. He's trying to do cool stuff. Electric cars, going to Mars, etc. Tough stuff and requires working the system (that everyone uses).

The hype and "exuberance" over Tesla was always a bit overwrought, but I don't understand the personal hate some have for him.

because he built a company that doesnt deliver a profitable product without government provided (taxpayer) subsidy

i dont hate him, i hate how companies can be built and wealth created via pure equity. the idea of the federal government providing concessions to a for profit, private company that will grow the owner(s) wealth is repugnant to all things capitalist

granted, what he does is not nearly as bad as GM or AIG being bailed out, but the precedent set is a pretty ****ed one and is akin to a ponzi scheme IMO. how cna a company raise its value via equitable contributions and hype alone? i wouldnt give a **** if (or rather when) it falls except that it involved government dollars
