I'm not hating. I want more designs like this coming out. It's just the pricing that is a lie. They simply can not meet that price.
They need the same equipment and space as any other car company needs. The actual material cost of steel is very low in the price of a car. This is one reason why car companies build bigger cars. It's a value thing. The robots don't care if they are welding a 6ft or 12ft section of metal. But people value a 12ft car as twice that as a 6ft one.
Take a nissan versa or smart car. The cheapest cars in USA. if nissan or smart tapered the rear of the car to one wheel, it wouldn't save them $6k in cost. It's maybe a few hundreds bucks in metal cost. All of the expensive **** (engines, gears, electronics, a/c, etc) is still there. It still takes the same factory, robots, employees, etc.
I think if they set a price of $9999, they would have a better chance.
