Chama NM Has some monsters..
Always went Bow hunting for Deer & Elk in the San Juan Forest out of Durango CO. Dropped one small Elk but saw some MONSTERS just couldn't get close enough with a Bow.
No clue, but in for ideas. An Elk hunt is #1 on my bucket list. Guess I should start saving for it one day so I can make the dream a reality. Good luck and have fun.
My brother went elk hunting in Colorado. Said it wasn't too hard to find elk within 150 yards for a shot with a .30-30 lever gun. Other people in his group killed elk with bows and arrows.
