Not only is the last trip to NY for the summer to pick up my camper, it's also a grocery trip for some food not readily available around here. I always pack a big cooler for lobster and clams. After Labor Day, the price on them goes down pretty drastically, making filling a cooler more affordable. I also lucked out and found a sale on them and this year I brought back 20 1 1/4 pounders, a 1/4 bushel of cherrystones, a bag of salt potatoes, and some super sweet corn from my Amish friend. My BIL and his wife make the trip up from Alabama, and this is becoming an annual thing for us all. With the leftover lobsters, my wife and I will be having Lobster rolls this week and my BIL takes some back with him, but I have to pick the meat for him, he still doesn't understand the concept that he's gonna get lobster juice all over himself, and he's gonna head home smelling like fish no matter what he brings to cover himself up. It's a nice way to end the fishing season while waiting for hunting to open up. Some pics
