Epic DOT fail today

I don't know, I am not willing for my taxes to go up anymore so the state can buy snow plows that only get used one day every three years. It sucks when this happens because all we can do is wait it out, but I don't believe it is worth the investment for plows when we need them so irregularly.

Hell I tried to get to my son today and couldnt hes staying at the sitters tonight just me in the wife at the house. I tried for 2 hrs but hes safe where he is so no point in risking getting him on the roads. part of living in the mountains but still crazy how slick it got so fast. I was able to get the wife from work at least we left her car but wrecks everywhere. and so far we are supposed to work tomorrow how the hell we will get there remains to be seen

Yep. I was home by 2 and if I don't open tomorrow so what.

It was messed up all around, Fulton, Gwinnett, Dekalb, where my wife works, Cobb, Cherokee all had school today. Clayton and Henry closed. I bet after those systems get reamed by all the angry parents they will rethink having school when a midday snow is predicted. I left work on Fulton Ind, Blvd @ 12:30 today to drive home to Henry County and it toll 3 hours, normally 45 mins. Roads will be worse tomorrow, I'm not going in! Maybe the city of Atlanta and the DOT can get their crap together tonite and spread salt and sand and deicer. Seems 2011 was enough of a lesson, much less Snow Jam 82. Hope they remember Snowmegeddon 14!

I live at the ga/ fl line, our weather guys have been telling us about the probability of ice/ sleet/ snow for 5 days, there is no way that this was unexpected. No, n ga does not need more snow plows, they need people in 'power' to close the schools and businesses on days like this. A single wreck on the main corridors can snarl traffic for hours on a normal day, a winter precip event is known to shut down the entire metro.

police cars, fire trucks and plows slide on ice, too. You don't want one of those coming at ya!

I left the office in Perimeter/Sandy Springs at 12:15. Got on 285 and it was already bad so I figured I'd get off on Roswell Road and take the back roads home that I normally take. I figured I'd have better luck. Boy was I wrong. Just walked in the door a little while ago. Total time: 8 hours 55 minutes from door to door. WORST DAY OF MY LIFE.
