There's also this to consider. It's has the bdc reticle for the 223 as well & is about 6.5 oz lighter & has .25 adjustments vs the Athlon's .5. Only downside is the SWFA scope is a back order deal. I ordered one a few days ago along with a demo Magpul 10/22 backpacker stock for $55.

I would stay away from the argos line. Athlon is a lot like vortex and bushnell. Solid bell curve in performance. I would start looking at the ~$500 and up line on Athlon. The Cronus and Ares are their top level scopes. I have experience with the argos, ares, and cronus. Definitely try to stay above the $500 on Athlon.

Especially a 1-8. Glass quality probably sucks. Maybe the 1-6 or 1-4 Argos...Maybe.
