I was a contractor for years, and remember seeing the lumber salesman's pricing sheets one day when I was getting a job quote. There was an asterisk next to every price per thousand board feet. At the bottom of the pricing sheet, there was an asterisked note: *OR WHAT THE MARKET WILL BEAR.

If even one box of ammo, one mag, or one firearm sells at the asking price, the market is validated. We are pretty far gone when the 2nd amendment gang complains about free markets, or no longer understands them. And as in every other type of market, smart money already bought, and smart money stands aside at times like these. Personally, just wish I'd been a little smarter a little more often, and perhaps that's the dismay driving a lot of the comments.

Yep. I'm filling up my ignore list just so when I list something I'll know who can pound sand.

Same here. I love this community too much to price gouge. If I'm going to price gouge, I'll throw up my PMAGS on eBay for $0.99 and let the public drive the price up to whatever they want.

I've been thinking the same thing, and it troubles me when conservatives are throwing around "greed" and "gouge."

While I think "gouge" is certainly out of place, I'm not as concerned about "greed" because I don't really think it is "greed." What upsets me the most out of all of this is that this type of panic buying and price hiking and shelf clearing is fuel for our own funeral pyre. It can be used to paint gun-owners as "hoarding stock piles of ammo" or "acquiring arsenals" or "stockpiling (whatever)" - ultimately I think it makes us look selfish, greedy, and stupid....and as a conservative, selfish, greedy, and stupid are not three things I aspire to be.

I'd love to know how many new members have signed up in the last week. It appears the vast majority of these overpriced panic ridden posts for AR's and PMAG's are from new members looking for a quick buck. Although I've put them on my ignore list and will not chose to do business with them, like OS said, they have every right to ask any price they want. They're only looking for profit, not to join a great community and be a active participant. Once the dust settles, they too will be gone.
