Experience with dentures

That’s odd. I haven’t had issue eating Chinese food. I will be careful.

Have you priced dental work?
I wasn’t able to justify the implants but don’t know if that would not have been the way to go.
$30,000 ?? Thangs have changed since I needed dental work. Note: I’m sure that’s the best option as far as being closest or better than original. But, Dang.

Look at having the work done in Mexico. They do good work at a fraction of the price.

I flew my daughter to Cancun for wisdom teeth. for what they wanted here. I did airfare for 2, hotels, meals, had my periodontal issues resolved, and had money left over.

I spent the last 2 years in Tucson AZ. I had work done in Nogales, about an hour away. Very good work. Very professional.

If you'd like to go in the direction of Nogales. I have a friend who lives south of the border. We can get you the hook-up.
Please pm me details, thanks.

All this dental talk and no one has tagged drsmile drsmile for some real professional input? I don't personally know him but his input would be of significant value to me if I was wanting to better understand options. Seems he has great reviews from other members on here.

Between braces (as an adult), root canals since I was about 16, multiple crowns, many of which have been replaced (and some multiple times), etc., I have already spent well over $20,000 on my teeth and I am not satisfied with the final outcome. So that $30,000 price tag for a complete permanent "near perfect" set sounds like a decent life-changing investment!

I’ve got a mouth full of crowns and fillings from not taking care of my teeth when I was young.
Hope to keep what I’ve got ’til the final buzzer.
My grandmother and grandfather both had full sets of dentures, always complaining about discomfort and poor fit. Probably things have improved greatly over the years.
My uncle went to one of those pull ‘em all, make dentures places, like to have bled/choked to death. He survived, got his dentures, complained about them ‘til the day he died.

I am happy to answer any questions. I am a fan of overdentures, not dentures. Overdentures snap or lock onto implants. This allows you to have teeth without covering the palate - so ice cream feels cold and coffee feels hot on the roof of your mouth. It does cost more, but the stability and confidence gained is priceless.

I am unfamiliar with overdentures. I know with regular dentures its tough because when you put something in your mouth you might not realize how hot it is until its too late. Also when eating ice cream when you get brain freeze its really brain freeze before you realize it.
