I think they called the ones in the Bronco's 351W Modified. I don't know the difference I have a buddy in flowery branch who went Bronco crazy ten or more years ago. I have a 351W in a 65 Mustang but it's been there for years untouched. they are some good engines.
Thanks, I was in the parts business for many years and now I'm still in the automotive industry although we virtually never see a 351 anymore. I was very aware of the differences. Please allow me to clear some things up before Boz (or whatever you prefer to be called) gets totally confused. The 351/400M engines are vastly different from anything else Ford ever made. They are essentially a bastardized mix of a tall deck Cleveland and a BBF. I will not go into that any further since it's not pertinent to this thread.
All you need to know... You DEFINITELY have a Windsor.
. I believe this is an early version main bearing girdle. It required modifications to clear 4 rods which I understand since this is a stroker engine with 6.25 inch rods. What I don't understand is having to grind oil pump clearance. Looking at the new girdles offered I see the clearance they come with to clear the oil pump. Also the oil pump pickup is designed to bolt under the number three main cap bolt but that wouldn't work either so I straightened the tab , bent a 90 and bolted it to the girdle. Thankfully the bottom end is done, now time to degree the cam and check valve to piston clearance.
