Factory Five 33 Hot Rod

P7140009.jpg

Finally got some pulleys. Original plan was to use a serpentine belt but after doing some CSI work at March Performance I realized I would have to use a V-Pulley setup instead or ditch the alternator bracket and start over.
Got in touch with the shipping company Friday and it looks like I am next to last on the delivery schedule next week. She said the driver would call me but likely the car will be delivered Thursday or Friday. Not much to do between now and then except find a belt for the engine.

I appreciate the info, we do emissions at work and I read the requirements for a "hot rod" and "kit car". They are sorta vague so I do not know exactly how it is gonna shake out. I've already thought of a few creative ideas, including buying a property in a non-emissions county. The only good news is I have at least a year or two to figure it out. There are several people in Georgia building Factory Five cars so I'm hoping they may help me through the process.
In TX, our emissions testing is limited to 20 years from issue date. it's not that ahrd to tune a carbed V8 to pass emissions though, assuming that cam doesn't have too much overlap :p (but then you ARE using roller lifters, so it can't be that aggressive)

Don't have the cam specs in front of me but not likely she could ever pass emissions. Lift is 570/580, compression figures about 10-1. Engine is done. She's been oiled and primed, wired and sitting on go. Car is due to arrive tomorrow morning so I'll be posting some more pics. Garage is cleaned out with only the engine, the differential and 4 jack stands on the floor. Like waiting on Christmas

Yeah, baby! Sweeeet!
There is a deceivingly large amount of work on that truck. Congratulations. I can't wait to see your progress.

A few first impressions and thoughts. The fiberglass is all thicker and stronger than I imagined. The number of backordered parts is considerable including some real important things like the grill and the firewall. I suspect this because they are really putting a lot of resources into the new 818, which I checked out on the truck. The powder-coated frame is just stunning. Checking and inventorying parts is a serious job. A lot of parts are made overseas. Plenty of headroom, we'll have to wait to check belly room. A few more pics:P7200028.jpgP7200039.jpgP7200037.jpg
