My wife and I went to go and visit/fish down at my folks place in Florida over the weekend. After a great weekend we were sitting around talking with my folks and my dad says I have something I want to give you that belonged to my dad (my grandfather). My grandfather was a pilot in WW2. My grandfather never really talked much about being in the war. Not unlike my 2 cousins who were the first 2 original members of the Thunderbirds but that's another story. So dad comes out of the back bedroom holding a towel,he hands me the towel and I open it up, to my sudden surprise I know what it is !! It was my grandfathers, Ithaca made 1911 along with the gun was the original holster that were only given to pilots. Just holding this thing really makes a man think "if this thing could only talk" and how proud I am of my grandfather for his service in the war. I will display this with pride and admiration !!
