Beautiful photos, I love this area of N. GA. I so envious of you guys that have a place up there. My family is from that area but migrated to the Bartow Cherokee Counties area two generations ago. I'd love to move back there but the job made that impractical for years and I've never been able to afford a second home. Now having elderly parents that I need to stay close to prohibits the move. I get up there for day trips when I can and used to camp up there a lot. For some reason I just feel I'm at home or where I belong when I'm up there. I need to get up there soon and visit the cemeteries where family is buried.

Always time for a day trip.....we live in a cool part of the country,being only 5 hrs from the beach,and 2 hrs. to the mountains (another 2 hrs. north of the mountains of North Georgia you can be in the mountains of N.C., and Tenn.)
I use my cabin as a place to spend the night,then get up the next day and drive ....my wife has people in Va.

and the Blue Ridge Pkwy. sure is a cool drive this time of year...may have to go for a ride

I have two brothers that have homes on Old Dial road of 60..One is a Nam Vet. When you go down the road From 60 and come to the hair pin turn to the left..The house if you did not turn is his, half log and half brick..The other brother built his home about a mile after the pavement ends and gravel from there. Small world is it not

When I go up to my cabin from my home in Snellville,i go up hwy 60 sometimes,so I turn on Old Dial road at the hair-pin turn, so I know the house your talking about Dinky.

No he just owns the house and the cottage behind it..But I bet he knows who does own it!

Thanks Dinky,i'll stop in If I see someone there. The guy that has the cabin next to mine has 65 acs.,4 buffalos and a good number of longhorn cattle,they make some odd sounds

Sometime we meet up and I will tell you a story, about of friend of mine that was gored by a set of those horns.

I need to check out the east side of town more often. I`m on the west side. Just moved up last summer.
