Farm or utility tractors Help!!!

Size matters...if you're looking to handle 6' implements, I'd go at least 40-50 hp. I had a NH TC35 and it's wasn't big enough for 6' all purpose plow & 6' hog in tall grass. I now have a TC45 and it's just right. I have friends with JD and Kubota in the same size range and they all seem to do fine. If I could get a new one tomorrow, I'd stick with the NH.

This is why I love the ODT. I'm learning a ton from you guys. I tried searching the web but kept getting paid review information. Keep it coming...
I have 30 acres and plan to have about two-thirds of it as pasture.

a good 38 to 50 hp diesel will be about what you need anything smaller and you wont be happy,, or even larger will be fine

If your going to have 20ac in pasture and plan to hay, look at hay equipment power requirements. Balers need the most power (round more than square), then the cutters, tedders and rakes. If you ever plan to plow, stay away from HST, get a good old shuttle shift for putting real power to the ground. Regarding a loader, remember it is a loader, not a grader or digger. I learned quick that I needed a skid steer in addition to a tractor to get everything done on my place I wanted to do. A good 50hp machine that puts 45 to the pto will do most everything you need farm-wise.

Thank you for the additional info. Very insightful on not using it as a loader...
