I found that Good Ol` Wally World had 150GR Power-Shok .308 for only $11.97 a box, so $12.80 after tax. The Rebate is good for 10 Boxes or $50 per house hold. Well I decided now would be a good time to stockpile 1,000 .308. Not only is it a great deal, it is great ammo that outside of this promotion will hold its value for years to come. I was able to have 4 friends let me use their address/info and acquire 5 rebates for a total of $250 in prepaid Visa Cards. I have a motorcycle so it was really cost effective to just go check 3 area Wally's and outside of that anytime I happened to be in one I would peruse that ammo. I was able to even call ahead to one location on two occasions and have them tell me the stock of them and sell me 15 and 17 boxes at one time even on separate receipts. The thing about making this all seem legit to Federal that your receipts must not include the same debit/credit card info. I carried cash and made sure all transactions would not reveal that it was one original purchaser.. Seems like a lot of work right?
Well @ $7.80/box (after rebate) X 50 = $390. $4.51 for a 40g desicant pack, $21.38 for MTM ACR8 Ammo Box (Academy w/tax, Cheaper now on amazon), $5.12 Harbor Freight 4 Piece Lock Set (w 20% coupon) = $421.01 for 1,000 rounds of high quality secured .308 Win Ammo.
It took 2 Months after filing rebate forms online and I had all 5 $50 Cards. I made seperate folders for each rebate. I took the same 10 boxes and rearranged them and took the necessary pictures all at once for every rebate. It really is not that much work..
If you read this far please note at time of writing my current local WM's Power-Shok prices are $17.54/box. However as we near hunting season I predict they will be on sale again same as last year. Also to note PSA was late to get on this last year but have already jumped on it at $14.99 with 10 Boxes shipping free. This may be the easiest route for most without having to travel, however determine which payment methods to use i.e. prepaid visa cards ect..
