I am looking to fence in a couple of acres with some field fence. I will put some goats and maybe a burro in there, but nothing bigger than that. Before calling around, I was hoping that maybe one of you guys have had one installed recently and remember roughly what it cost per linear foot. The property is wide open field.

Buy Red Brand field fence it comes in 330 foot rolls, the Tractor supply has it here local, its been a while since I bought any , use heavy duty wood corner post , cause you have to pull the fence tight , you can get away with metal T post for the rest , figure up for footage , its pretty simple, if you need help PM me your footage and I can figure something close, you have to figure in gate post also and the price of the gates

Did mine many years ago. The county extension agent had a great how to pamphlet that showed how to lay your fence out and figure material. Kind of like fencing for dummies. Was a great help for someone (me) who never did any farm fencing. Also good to call around for supplies being cost varies from business to business.

Tractor supply flyer in the mail today.

just don't buy cheap or that high tensile strength wire it is cheaper for a reason,

Huh?

12 ga high tensile is the best, strongest, longest lasting livestock fencing available. It also has the lowest installed cost per foot. Installed mine in 2000, it is tight and good looking today. Field fencing gets loose, and goats get their horns stuck in them. Large animals can walk it down.

I ran commercial cattle for 10 years and had every kind of fence known to man, really wish I had known about the HT fence then.

Be ready to come off the hip big time!!!!

I am prepared to spend some money, it's just a matter of how much. So far it doesn't seem like anyone has had a fence installed by someone.

I can do it, and will if the cost is more than what I am comfortable paying. I work 50 hours a week at my full-time job and as much as 24 hours on the weekend on my part time job, so time is more of an issue than money right now, but with that being said, I'm not dropping $10k on some fence for some raggedy @$$ goats!

I seen HT snap one day while it was being pulled it was my first and only experience with it . it cut one guy pretty bad we had to cut him out of that mess , I stayed away from it ever sinse, If you pull red brand tight and staple it correctly and your corners don't give I never seen it come loose
