Field fence cost?

I am prepared to spend some money, it's just a matter of how much. So far it doesn't seem like anyone has had a fence installed by someone.

I can do it, and will if the cost is more than what I am comfortable paying. I work 50 hours a week at my full-time job and as much as 24 hours on the weekend on my part time job, so time is more of an issue than money right now, but with that being said, I'm not dropping $10k on some fence for some raggedy @$$ goats!
how many feet of fence do you need ?

Other than the corners, how often would you put up a wood post. I want to do it right. I've heard anywhere from ever 50' to 100' between wood posts, and every 10' for the t-posts.

I seen HT snap one day while it was being pulled it was my first and only experience with it . it cut one guy pretty bad we had to cut him out of that mess , I stayed away from it ever sinse, If you pull red brand tight and staple it correctly and your corners don't give I never seen it come loose

How did you snap it? You never stretch it until it is in place. It is all hand pulled and installed . once it is loosely in place, you tighten the strainers. Pull tension is marked on the springs, it is impossible to over-tighten it.

I got free telephone poles from the power company for my corners and gates, saw a crew working and asked for three poles. The guy made a call and there were 3 poles dropped within a week.

Also, I had to learn the hard way that fence should be inside the t post so that when my goats lean on the fence it pushes against the post.

Be sure to build some H-post for the corners to pull against and sign up for Tractor Supply emails on their site. Every so often they will send you a coupon for 15% off. Saved me on my fencing.
