So to finish this story off in the fashion we all hoped, just 3 days after Blatter was re-elected, he steps down as president of FIFA amid what we can only assume was legal pressure from the US.

I bet he stepped down due to something a little more specific than public opnion or pressure. He is in "sweep it under the rug mode" in a bad way.
