Went to a firearms museum in Poznan Poland for my birthday and my NCO got me Bryan Litz applied ballistics book for my birthday. We went to a polish military store and bought some cool plate carriers too. Solid weekend.

Poland is on the bucket list. A tour of some of the concentration camps, that some on here deny exist, and other historical spots.

Poland is amazing. It’s how I envision America should be. It’s so beautiful here. Everyone is cautiously polite, dress really nice but not provocative. Even the poorest towns, like the one I live in, have a sense of pride and keep everything tidy and beautiful. I love it here. Everyone is like fiercely prideful they are polish. The soldiers say “never again” to any form of outside influence / occupation. If I didn’t have a family I would ask to be permanently stationed here. This is the best deployment I’ve been on. It’s my 4th and the first one where the army didn’t f# me.

I’ve been to 12 countries since this deployment and Poland is hands down my favorite. Norway, Sweden, and Denmark were beautiful but the people seemed soft and oblivious. Pols are tough as hell.

I have been going to Poland for 30 years. I own property there (through my wife). Amazing country and the people are very nice. There are many WWII sites and museums. There are still a number of sites that I have not seen. I was in Westerplatte last year, where WWII started. You could walk through the rubble of the Polish Army barracks that was shelled by the Germans in September 1939. They were working on a dig when I was there (https://tvpworld.com/82678977/archaeologists-unearth-human-remains-at-wwii-site-in-northern-poland). I see that you are from Gainesville, Florida. I went through ROTC and received my commission at the University of Florida ("Fightin' Gator Battalion").

My wife and her entire family graduated from UF. I’m originally from Forsyth, Georgia. We moved down there for an engineering job for my civilian life. I was AD, now I’m a reservist. 5 more years and I’m done….
