Have you ever discharged a firearm accidentally??

Funny enough, the hotel was so low rent that it never go mentioned. The muzzle blasted melted about a three inch hole in the poly/plastic-blend comforter, bullet went through the sheets, mattress, box-springs, and into the carpet. Luckily it was early in the afternoon and on the bottom floor. Tulsa Oklahoma in the late nineties, was pretty "hood"...especially in the areas that we stayed for work.
And here I was thinking you were staying at a 5-star hotel rather than a seedy one. Now that’s funny!

I was in the Army and we were doing live drills and me and my team mate were doing buddy moving to contact bounding drills and he ran past me and tripped, when he tripped he tensed up and finger on trigger and safety off and put a rd a foot away from me. It might have hit my plates or it might have hit my side. My nco smoked him and me for hours.
After that I have been very much a snob about safety and knowing your firearm status.

A buddy of mine was showing me his Glock 21 grip he put on his Glock while I was sitting in my Denali, he was standing outside of the door with it open and his leather holster I guess caved in and when he went to holster it it pulled the trigger. Put a hole in my frame. Missed the wiring harness by a few mm and missed his balls too. Too to hospital to get staples.

I have a buddy who’s easily the baddest person on the planet. He’s not a gun guy, but he’s insanely proficient with firearms. Looks at guns as a just a tool for his job. When we were 22 and in college we went hunting in Texas on spring break. On the way to the stand in a Polaris 4x4 in the afternoon we saw a rabbit like literally 20 feet in front of the Polaris. He swung a .240 weatherby mag with the barrel right next to my head and shot the rabbit. It turned to mist in front of us, and the muzzle blast made me woozy. I wouldn’t call it an ND but definitely negligent. It’s so strange to me how far he’s progressed in 15 years. I’m a gun guy, love firearms, and say I’m very proficient with them, but with his job he blows me out of the water with his weapons handling.

The same guy later that night, drunk as hell, threw the same .240 WM, chambered, with the safety off on the couch and said “it’s good bro.” I quickly empty it….

I’m really proud of my buddy, but I often wonder how he made it. Lol

I stood right next to a Bradley during gunnery and the muzzle blast knocked me out. They thought I got hit by shrapnel. It was the most embarrassing trip to the hospital I’ve ever taken.

Back in the early 90’s i was showing my friends my newly acquired 10/22. My brother was playing in the backyard popping cans and left 1 in the mag.. i was showing my friends and I’m glad I paid attention to “keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction.”

I shout through my ceiling and found the bullet in the rafters. The roof was spared. A little caulk and no one ever knew.
