First Day Without Beer...

just stick with water , put a few drops of lime or lemon in it, Stay away from MIO that crap it full of all kinds of garbage you should not be putting in your body...
What are you getting in MIO? Propylene Glycol is a clear and slightly bitter liquid that is used to prevent discoloration of foods during storage. It has been shown to cause various diseases in animal studies when consumed in large quantities.

Acesulfame Potassium is a fake sweetener that is potentially carcinogenic.
“Natural Flavor” with fake colors to cause you to imagine the berries depicted on the package. Unfortunately those artificial colors may cause cancer and hyperactivity too.
Last but not least, potassium sorbate is a mold inhibitor – it allows this product to sit on a shelf for months.
So, Mio is a gobbledegook of chemicals designed to entice consumers, but mostly to increase Kraft profits.

Another great way to start your digestive juices in the AM is a glass warm water and fresh lemon juice

Stick to it buddy. It's more of a habit, than a addiction.
Yes, it IS a habit. You gotta have a can or bottle in your hand all the time. That's why switching to liquor is a disaster cause you wind up drin king it the same way you do beer. Ba Da Bing Ba Da Boom you're knee walkin' drunk.

This is day 5 and further than I usually get. Not sayin' I'm not gonna drink anymore. But I want to see how far I can go.

Stick with it and keep up that attitude! Try to avoid situations where you know you will be tempted.

Do this: Figure out how much you used to drink and how much it cost per day. Keep a log with how much money you're saving. Corny, I know, but money motivates a lot of people. This technique may not work for you, but if it appeals to you, try it.

Good luck and keep up the great work!

Why in the world do most of you guys want Him to keep drinking? Can you just say good luck and motivate him instead of trying to convince Him to keep drinking but "in moderation"

Haha, I don't get it. Hopefully none of you guys need any type of moral support in the future.......

Yeah, that's most of my motivation. Well aside from getting back into 36" pants from 40". And I commented on another thread about " What Have You Done to Prep Today?" My wife is a MUCH better prepper than me. She knows a lot more about emergency situations than me.She even has a certificate in EM. But we are both overweight. And all the prepping in the world won't do if you can't run/hike half a mile with your go bag. So my motivations are many. I just have to beat my habits.

Hey, thanks for the back up. But I don't have a problem with other people making suggestions about how to moderate drinking. Most people mean well but don't grasp the situation. I've made it 5 days now and I feel good about it. I'd still love a beer but it is what it is. I have appreciated every suggestion because even if it was something I didn't see working in my situation it was still input from someone that didn't have to give a damn.
