Fish Anitibiotics

I'm planning on sealing mine in half-gallon or gallon mason jars with a large desiccant pack on the bottom and an overkill amount of oxygen absorbers on the top. I'm assuming the O2 absorbers will do their thing before the desiccant pack steals the moisture needed to rust the iron in the O2 absorbers. I'm not planning on opening the jars until I need the meds in an emergency, so I'm guessing they will last a long time that way.

Remember, keeping the drugs in the freezer is an important part of the storage plan. The labs keep their drugs way way colder than 30 degrees. Is it safe to keep mason jars that cold? I have never used them. I'd be worried they would lose their seal.

I like this site better, someone posted it earlier in this thread or in another thread. From what I've seen, they have better prices, free shipping, and they show a picture of the actual pills you are buying and the pill code.

I ordered from them last week and they my shipment at the door in 3 days! Good folks!

Ok, here's the list of antibiotics sold for fish that appear to be the same as those used on humans. This list is basically what can be found on the website I'll link below, but I'm pretty sure there's one or two that this particular site doesn't offer. Pretty much all I've done is added brand names to help people identify what would be the most useful to them. I'm not in the medical field and I'm sure you've all seen the usual warnings about antibiotics. I'm not vouching for every one of these being suitable for human ingestion. Before you buy anything, ask for the pill code on the pills you are buying and look it up on drugs.com. Anyway, here's the list:

Ampicillin (Principen, Omnipen, Polycillin and Totacillin)
Fish Cillin, 250 mg

Amoxicillin
Fish Mox Forte, 500 mg

My question is which 4 would you choose to stock? I have chosen:

Amoxicillin (good broad-spectrum starter)
Cipro (commonly prescribed, not a "cillin")
Flagyl (good for gut problems, even if non-bacterial)
Azithromycin (Z-pak) (My mom gets this every time she gets bronchitis.)

I'm willing to add more if my stash is lacking.

What do you use for say chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis? I'm happily married, but if my wife dies in a shtf scenario, I might have to get down after a while. A man has needs ya know. Look at the governor and andrea in the walking dead. he had no idea what she might be rolling with and he still laid the wood to her. I'm just sayin', if its a shtf scenario, I want to be truly prepared if I end up gettin' it on with some skank and need to get rid of the 7 year itch.

This sounds like a perfect opportunity to educate yourself so you can competently check the quality of the turf before you step out onto the field. I suggest doing a few Google Image searches -- with "safe search" disabled, of course. "Blue waffle" would be a good one to start with.

Maybe a thread on makeshift prophylactics is in order.
