Fishing trip in Clearwater, Fl help.

My daughter and her family are going to vacation in Clearwater and do some fishing. For her youngest son's birthday she wants to take him on an off-shore 1/2 day fishing trip. Does anybody know a good/cheap place to go for a fishing trip? Thanks for any help.

Been over 10 years since I've been to Clearwater but they use to have a party boat at the marina there.

I believe there are trips out of Treasure Island on the south side of St. Petersburg (just south of Clearwater). Fantastic fishing during tarpon season.

It is so hard to buy birthday and Christmas gifts for kids that age.

If it is in the budget, avoid party boats. A smaller six pack boat will allow a more personalized experience. A lot of captains give a discount for taking a kid fishing because it is essential to the long term survival of our sport.
