You may have accidentally gotten the generation one instead of the two, which is not as good. The 2.0 has more throw and better modes and a better
Emitter. Look on the flashlight or box and see if it says TAC 2.0. If not, I would recommend returning it and getting the 2.0 which is the blue one and the orange one and the desert one. The only reason I say that is because on the listing on Amazon when you switch to the black color selection or red, it changes the description to the old one with 280 throw instead of 360. It may also just be a typo as well because it says 2.0 under the black but the details aren’t right.

You will love them if you haven’t gotten them yet. That tac 2.0 is perfect once you get it in the mode you like but it’s odd how to select the mode. From off you gotta half press the tail switch like 20 times for a blip of light and then turn on on the last press. You will see it flash a certain amount of times and that number of times is what mode your in. Turn off and then back on within 3 seconds to go to next mode. Leave off for more than 3 seconds for it to stay on that mode until you restart that process. The ts28 is an incredible all around light/powerhouse.
