Let me start by saying that I CC, no one knows I have a gun and I was taught to never show or pull your weapon unless you intend on shooting it.

With that said. I was working down town Atlanta this morning. We unloaded the truck full of cabinets we had to install so I went to get my guys breakfast at the Mcdonalds on Ponce. As I was walking out there was a young lady in front of me. She got in her car and 1 of the crackheads that ask you for money when you walk in approached her as she was sitting in her car and was saying something to her not letting her close her door. She told the thug she was late for work and had to go, but he wouldn't move. I put my food in the van and walked to where they were. I asked if there was a problem. When I did the thug turned around and squared up to me and wanted to know who the f*** I was and what the f*** I wanted. I told him I didn't want any trouble that the girl looked upset. By this time she closed her door and took of. The thug continued to yell obscenities and to walk toward me as I backed up toward my van and explained everything was cool and I didn't want trouble. At this time 2 of his thug buddies that were leaning against the wall outside Mcdonalds came over. The original thug really started yelling at this point. I felt very threatened by him and his 2 buddies so I raised my shirt and put my hand on the grip of my gun and told him I really didn't want trouble. He shut up, his buddies walked away and I got in my van and drove off.

I have played this through my head all day and wondered what I could do differently. It all ended well, no shots fired nobody killed.

Any comments from the ODT crew?

just walk away, get in the car and go. why flash anything? Unless they are pulling weapons are running straight for you just get in your car and go. It not worth it.

No shots fired. Nobody died. Everybody walked away. Best way it could have ended IMHO. If it was about to turn into a 3 on 1 situation, there's not much else you could have done except run. Glad everything didn't go south and props for stepping up and protecting a lady in a bad situation

Agreed... well done.

Sounds good to go. Same thing happened to me. My wife and I were walking around peachtree at night just enjoying life on our anniversary and hommie the clown wanted to talk about my shoes. I tried walking away and he wanted to shake hands and his homeboys were all gathering around. So I raised my shirt and put my hand on my pistol. He saw it yelled he's a cop and hauled tail.

I think you did well. The fact the you noticed the other two guys coming was good SA. If one or both of them had gotten behind you.... 3 on 1 is bad odds. That woman could have been the next statistic on the evening news.

The only thing I can comment is if they had known each other and it was domestic and you had whacked him, she probably would have taken up for him and not you. People are weird like that. It doesn't sound like that is the case here, but you never know and it is something to think about in the future.

Failed to shoot a worthless crackhead = FAIL!!!!

But from the sounds of it, you gave him plenty of advice; unfortunately, he didn't follow it
