Florida Gun Buyer

I also have a cwp in fla but i also have a georgia dl if you hade a gdl you would not have any issues.the fl permit has resopricity here on carry though

A Florida CWP is not any good for a GA resident to carry in GA. A GA resident must have a GWL to carry here. A nonresident must go through an FFL in their state to buy any firearm from out of state.

Taken from http://www.atf.gov/publications/download/p/atf-p-5300-4.pdf also this is a good place to look http://www.atf.gov/publications/download/p/atf-p-5300-5-2011/atf-p-5300-5-florida-2011.pdf .

Please verify with ATF before you do anything. I know as a GA resident I can go across to Florida to the gun show this weekend and legally purchase any rifle or shotgun in person and take it home. To buy a handgun in person it has to be shipped to an FFL holder in my state for me to pick it up. The difference is if you purchase the gun (long guns or handguns) across state lines and have it shipped it would have to be shipped to an FFL holder. In person you can buy long guns and carry it home as long as you meet all of the other legal requirements. If you go to another state to buy a hand gun it would have to be shipped to an FFL holder in your state.
