You seem to be forgetting the suppressor height Trijicon night sights. Those, plus the slide milling and threaded barrel well make up the $400 difference in price between a regular and a tactical.
I had a FDE model and sold it. I love it while I had it. You have to follow the slide and magazine break in procedures though. $999 is a good deal.

Disassmble the mags and the gun. Clean and oil religiously. Re-assemble and leave the slide locked back for a few days. Fully load all magazines and leave them loaded for a few days. Should help avoid the feeding issues people report with a full magazine.

I'm not engineer by any crazy stretch of the imagination, but shouldn't a $1,000 pistol be sold with these steps already completed.
