Got out of the Marines in 97 because of all the new changes. Which was stupid but i was young and dumb. Tried to go back 10 years later but was told i was too old lol. Got out of te national guard last month for a few reasons. Hard to work 2 jobs and the guard too, tired of the bs and hoped to advance at my job. Contrary to what some companies and government agencies say, they hate it if you're in the guard and they won't support you for crap. They will do what they have to do just because the law says so. Of it wasn't for the soldiers and sailor relief act they wouldn't hold your job for crap.

I work with a guy currently who is in the Nat'l Guard. He says that Delta really does hate it.

The only reason I got in was because we were going to war and I had just enough sense to know I needed a change of direction in my life. I got out because I left for my last deployment when my first born was 2 days old. I didn't see her again till she was almost 8 months. That did me in.

My last boss was ****ty. I was ready to get out to be with my family and finally go to school. 3 years later, I'm still in school but now divorced and half-wishing I'd stayed in and deployed some more.

They hate it, but if he deploys I think delta pays him nicely. But yeah I'm general most employers aren't guard friendly. Sad to say but it's true. We had a few guys from delta with us when we deployed.

I got married while I was in and thought I wanted to get out to be with her. Been regretting it ever since. I could have retired this coming September.

I got out for the same damn reason, regretted it everyday since , I'd be retired by now
