I've owned my first MEC for 51 years. I still use it. But I want to share with you some of the things I have put in the power piston in place of lead shot. I don't say do this in a decent shotgun, just saying the things that I personally have put in there instead of shot. Not everything crimped, some had no crimp...but they all came out the front. Here's the list, no particular order & I know there's more that time forgot.
Sand, rocks, salt & rock salt, chinaberries, muscadines, marbles, used primers (my favorite), nails, foam rubber, ice, arrows, arrows with an unfired she'll primer first with a roofing nail fixed on it, finish nails, drywall screws, duct screws, fired brass cases, bullets intended for reloading, unfired 22s, misc size muzzleloader balls, confetti, toilet paper, washers, feathers, firecrackers, rubber chunks, leaves, glue, dog crap, beans, peas, small water pipes and bird shot. Gives you some idea that if it goes in ok it comes out ok.
