My dad is a vet and enjoys using his veterans card for discounts with various stores and the large big box stores. So for Christmas I got him a gift card from home depot, he's a do it yourself guy and not afraid to tackle any job (he's retired at least 10 years). So back to the gift card, he tells me home depot won't accept the military ID card, they say it's expired. So he tells the manager every other store takes his card and he gets a discount. But not HD.

So my question is, how can he get a new card? Preference being online! But any route is accessible. Thanks in advance.

The home office is in Vinnings, IIRC. Call them or stop by and ask the highest ranking dude you can get to to please explain this policy to you.

Been there, done that, got the tee shirt. I was told by a HD MGR [who showed me the policy] that on a daily basis they only honor discounts for active duty, retired and disabled. On Memorial Day and Veterans Day, all can get the discount. Thanks.

No, they're saying his ID is expired, military ID so they won't give him a discount.

Is his military ID expired? If so he needs to go to a base and get it renewed. With that said what type of ID does he have? Did he do 20 years and has a retire ID? Was it just a VA card?

I was getting a runaround from Lowes on this sort of thing. New manager takes over, and now they actively push the Vet discount, even ask if you are a Vet or want to take advantage of the discount.

My bet is a non Vet manager at that store.
