For you "Dark Side of the Moon" fans

Hey Booger, one of the liner notes in Alan Parson's release of Dark Side of the Moon (The Quad mix) was the singer Clare Torry, who did that moaning/yelling vocal on the "The Great Gig in the Sky".

According to Parsons, she was a fairly unknown but had worked with her before. She was just hired to come in and do some background vocals but nobody knew what she was really capable of.

But that unknown chick belted it out amazingly.
She said they gave her free rein. When she finished, she thought it wasnt good. She requested a re-take. They said no way, its perfect.

"Shine on You Crazy Diamond" is one of my favorites. In fact I dig that entire Wish You Were Here album. It would be superior to Dark Side if it weren't so short.
Anyway y'all should check out the Government Mule cover of Shine On. Those guys can cover anyone and make it sound amazing.

I'm an old concert hound from way back, but never saw Pink Floyd. But, back about '84, I did see the solo shows from David Gilmour, when I was stationed in southern California (nothing to write home about), as well as consecutive tours of Roger Waters, a couple years later at the Omni in Atlanta. Both of those were quite good, almost exactly like seeing....we'll......Pink Floyd.
