I have always been a Chevy man until my father passed away and I received his truck. I will most likely buy another Ford truck if I ever wear this one out, I really like it.
No real loyalty, on older trucks I lean toward Chevy on newer it's a toss between Ford and Chevy whichever is in better condition for the price.
I wish I could have a Chevy engine mated to a dodge transmission and solid axle with a ford body...lol
Currently have all GM here is the 01' Chevy 1500HD gets right at 12 mpg. ~150k miles never replaced anything including brake pads they still are over 3/4" thick thy were the super heavy duty brakes, this truck was built for towing heavy loads with the 2500 chassis 6.0l engine and huge rear end with I believe a 4.11 in it. This beast will boot scoot and boogey though, if your cruising 60 and floor it, it will bark the tires.
Had 2 Ford trucks, F-250, and F-350. Engine blew in the 250, tranny went out in the 350. Got 2 Chevy/GMC trucks at my house, 216,000+ miles on one, 240,000+ miles on the other. No major repairs on either, both are 1500 series trucks and regularly tow trailers, 5th wheel camper with one of them. Never going back to a Ford, only thing worse would be a Dodge...
Chevy! All I ever did on my fords was work on em my chevy has 163,000 on it and not a major issue just a little routine maintenance here any there.
And Im not gonna hate on the ford guys if working on things is somthing you enjoy go buy a ford if you want somthing that works chevy or dodge only ways to go!
Always drove Fords until they refused to come outside last time around. Drove across the street to Toyota, the guy said,"Let's go take a look at a Tacoma," and I drove it home.
Old thread, but it popped up in the Feed... FORD 100% Chevy took bailouts, screwed the bond holders and is now going to outsource 1,000's of jobs to China.
I use a Ford for work and would never have a Chevy. Now that GM has taken the taxpayers bailout dollars to build multiple assembly plants in China, GM can go straight to hell.
