Not really - it has an awesome muzzle brake and the gas system helps, too.

Gunshop where I picked up my AK yesterday had a nice SVT-40...$2500 ugh...

The set I got from butternut 7.62, I put a couple coats of teak oil on it last week and let it sit up and dry. First time using the teak. It gave it a yellow hue and really shows the wear on it. Interesting finish.

I regret not getting one back then. Hell they were so cheap i was looking at 3 different calibers but they were so ugly then and i was so naive and young
