Free Dog-Good Guy

food for thought. never really looked at that last line in that way.
For years I recommended that people wait until about 2 years old before neutering if they wanted the best muscle development in a male dog, but a recent study has shown that even if you do that the dog's musculature will deteriorate after neutering and within about six months there will be no real difference.

There is nothing wrong with neutering, but most of the time it's not the magic behavioral bullet that a lot of people think it is. As for getting a female spayed, unless you are going to breed I always recommend it simply because you avoid the hassle of a female in heat. I have never seen any behavioral or physical difference associated with it. Other than the fact that a female in heat has a tendency to be a little grumpy.

please explain this to me so we are on the same page.
If you actually know as much about dog training as you are trying to lead everyone to believe, you already know what I'm talking about. And if you have any more than 4 brain cells working together for a common goal (which I believe you do), then you also know that my comment has nothing to do with how a dog urinates.

always heard that means they were fixed at an early age

Yep, I had both my male dogs fixed at the earliest possible time (multiple reasons) both are about two years old and just started lifting their leg. They started when my daughter's boyfriend brought over his male dog. I was told that they lift their legs to pee higher up on what they are marking. The higher the pee, the more dominant the animal.
I would imagine a 100 pound stud can pee pretty high up a fence post.

sorry for the derailment guys. my fault. sorry to the OP as well.
i just want to make sure all the animals are treated fairly. im not a
tree hugger ok, i believe in hunting and fishing, i know and agree
to why we thin herds as well. yadda yadda yadda. just trying to
shine a light. sometimes the light reveals and sometimes there is
nothing there to see. its really up to each of us to light up our own
path's, but every so often we find somebody that needs a little help.
human or animal.
