Free to a good home... Senior female Akita.

If nobody takes her soon, let me know. We've been contemplating the idea of an old shop dog to live out the rest of their days here as a gun shop dog. Looking for an older mature dog so we don't have to raise it or show it too much attention. Plus, if we don't like it, it's not a long term commitment. If she doesn't find a home let me know and ill run it by the guys again. She be fine alone all night free in a big building or does she require crating?
Do it!!' Then get her a doggie backpack and she can carry supplies. Kinda like a carrier pigeon.

Talked with MY Wife about this--Sorry, but with seven Birds, three Cats & a small Dog, "The Inn is Full", or so she says--But she did ask me what I thought was a pertinent question--If you have had the Akita for twelve years, how long have you had your WIFE?

Nonlib, you guys NEED a "Shop Dog"... :) ...OP, Good Luck--I know this can't be easy....mikey357

Before anyone blows me up for this, understand its harder for me than you think, so keep your negativity to your self... Here goes..

I am looking to re-home my 12 year old Female Akita. I have all her records, she is excellently behaved, but is getting old. As much as she loves our family, as she ages, she is struggling with my young children's attention, and has made my wife uneasy about her around the little ones.

She is an indoor/outdoor dog who is loving, protective and great with people (she barks at strangers, but really just wants to lick them). Not so great with other dogs as she is a little possessive of her people.

I have raised her from 6 weeks and is a family dog. I have crate, bowls, food and all the Jazz to go along with her... She is a great dog, but needs a new home to grow old in... Feel free to text/call for more info...706-887-7060

I am so sorry you and your family have to work through this. She is beautiful that is for sure. My heart bleeds for you both. I wish I didn't work so many hours so I could give her a final home and care for her elder years
Best of luck wish your search .

She would make a great shop dog especially at her age! Akita's average life span is 10 to 12 years, but many live to be 15! So she would be great for you and your guy's to have around until she decides she's ready to move into Dog Heaven!

We talked about it and with the way our security system is set up it wouldn't work to have a dog roaming about. That idea is kind of shot. Sorry, we tried to make it work but we can't negate any security precautions we have due to the nature of business we conduct here. She'd basically have to be locked in the bathroom at night and I just wouldn't do that.

True on the security, and I agree the bathroom at night would be terrible. At least you tried.:thumb:
Maybe he will find her a good home soon.
