Can additional camera's be purchase, and can it be extended to a longer range with additional wiring?
Not to answer for OP, but I have installed 3 system very similar to this. If the manufacturer is still in business, you can typically buy extensions and extra cameras. Just know, the more cameras, the less archived footage given the settings you apply in the DVR. Also, some have a length limit on cable, 150' I think on these cable types???? Could be wrong.

Also, the last system I installed required manual port forwarding due to ATT modems/switch not allowing for it with their software settings. I'm no IT guy by any means, but got it figured out, but it took a while.

Huh? Wallace, you just blew my mind! You're second paragraph was way over my head. Just looking for a system that can be used in the woods, for a hunting camp, will this work?

Yes you can buy any bnc cable to extend it. I had a 100' extra i got off amazon i used with a few cameras. The dvr stores alot of video and will write over files if it got full. If you connect it to a router it will work with the app for remote view. I did not have issue when i connected it.

Yes if you have power for the dvr and somewhere to keep it, it will work at home or camp. Cameras are outdoor rated.

Thanks

Just letting you know that if you use ATT internet, accessing the mobile app will require some more tedious Google skills. Again, no IT guy here, but the ATT install was not as simple as the others I did. I bet if you are tech savvy though, it would be pretty easy for you, even with ATT.
