Item Description: For sale is my 1986 M1028 pickup. The truck spent most of its life as a 1031 repair truck, so it has only 9700 miles. The truck came from Warner Robbins Air Force Base in Georgia.
The truck has a chevy 6.2 diesel motor, Turbo 400 transmission, and NP205 transfer case. The axles are a Dana 60 in the front with Trac Lok and a Corporate 14 bolt in the rear with a Detroit locker. Both axles have 4.56 gears.
I have just serviced the motor by changing the oil, changing the fuel filter, and changing all of the belts. I installed a new sending unit in the fuel tank and replaced all the rubber fuel lines at the tank. The front driveshaft has been lengthened and balanced and the rear driveshaft is brand new.
The truck has a 8 inch Superlift lift kit installed. It includes front springs, new shocks, new brake lines, longer draglink, and shackle flip brackets along with a block in the rear. The wheels and tires have 1500 miles on them. The wheels are 17x9 Procomp wheels with Eaton Beadlocks welded on. The tires are 37x12.50r17 Super Swamper M16 tires. There is a full size spare in the bed.
The truck has been painted with USMC Lackluster Green paint. There is additional paint to go along with the truck. I just added a carpet and insulation kit in the cab to help with road noise. I installed a new headliner and all of the trim pieces from a civilian truck. The dashpad was cracked, so I put in a brand new one. The giant factory steering wheel was replaced with one from an S10 blazer. I replaced the rubber seals in the doors with new ones. The taillight lenses are new from LMC. I installed Carr aluminum steps to help with getting in and out.
For towing, I installed a Curt Class 4 receiver hitch. Also, a Tekonsha brake controller. The truck has 4 pin and 7 pin trailer hookups along with the factory military hitch and wiring.
