In case anyone isn’t aware, this date code offers the original finish of the Mk23. I believe the original finish was changed in the early 00’s to what it is now. The original is much slicker and glossier compared to the current finish. I want to say it is more durable as well.

Think of it as Glock’s original tennifer finish vs the matte finish on a lot of the Gen4’s that was used until the Gen5 came out.

HK also stopped shipping these with the pistol case and now it just comes in the plastic case that all their pistols come in.

Hit the nail on the head with that! The original finish/case are what drove me to getting this in the first place.
