Item Description: This is my sons truck. He drove it all through high school but now he needs something a bit more economical as he launches into the real world.

4.6L V8. Truck shows 282k on the clock but I just had a salvage engine put in it about 7000 miles ago (because teenage boys apparently are incapable of checking the oil). New brakes and a starter were put on at the same time. We were told the engine came out of a 2002 F-150 with 120k miles, but the engine we actually got was out of a car and we had to swap over almost everything so who the hell knows how many miles are on it. It runs solid, but gotta be honest.

The truck did develop a transmission leak after the engine swap. Seems like it is leaking just under a quart every oil change. My mechanic said it is a cheap fix except for the cost of pulling the transmission. My boy makes minimum wage part time so he has opted to just keep an eye on the transmission fluid and add when necessary.

Also in the last week the truck started showing signs of being low on freon. We had the entire AC system replaced 2 years ago so I am not sure why it is low now, but again my boy makes minimum wage so he has opted to sweat it out the last bit of summer rather than spending 25 bucks refilling the freon and possibly having to do it again in spring.

The truck has aftermarket Mikey Thompson wheels which my son loves. I would prefer factory wheels, but I'm not a 18 year old boy.

My son just started college which he is driving 45 miles round trip to 4 days a week and he is needing something better on gas....(because as I said he makes minimum wage part time.)
