Item Description: For sale or trade is a stunning 1981 Smith & Wesson Model 27-2 finished in factory nickel, wearing the long 8⅜" barrel with the classic pinned barrel and recessed cylinders. This is from the final years before the engineering change and represents the peak of S&W’s craftsmanship on their flagship .357 Magnum. I purchased this revolver from the original owner in Georgia, who stated it had been fired fewer than 30 rounds. The condition absolutely supports that claim. The nickel finish is brilliant, mirror-like, and exceptionally bright; the kind of shine you expect from a safe-kept showpiece. Only the faintest handling marks keep it from “as new.” It also comes with a fully restored original presentation case, including the factory tools, documents, and silk-lined interior. The set looks gorgeous and showcases the revolver exactly the way Smith & Wesson intended. The target stocks display deep, rich, dark grain, pairing beautifully with the nickel and adding to its display appeal. Mechanically, the gun is as tight and smooth as you’d expect from a lightly fired 27-2. One thing that truly sets this piece apart is its finish. Only about 10% of all Model 27s were produced in nickel, making factory nickel examples significantly more scarce, especially in long-barrel, pinned-and-recessed configuration. As a result, this revolver checks every box for collectors.

Highlights:
• 1981 production Model 27-2
• Factory nickel – only ~10% of Model 27s
• 8⅜" barrel
• Pinned barrel & recessed cylinder
• Original owner – <30 rounds fired
• Restored presentation case with tools & paperwork
• Beautiful dark-grained factory target stocks
• Excellent lockup, timing, and action
• Showcase-quality collector piece

Condition:
Overall: Excellent: light handling marks and minimal finish wear; no major dings, cracks, or pitting.
Mechanics: Smooth action, solid lockup, reliable timing.
Bore: Clean
Grips: Very Good condition with normal handling wear.

This is an outstanding opportunity to acquire one of the most desirable configurations of the Model 27-2, nickel, long barrel, pinned & recessed, original owner, and complete with its presentation set. Perfect as a centerpiece for a Smith & Wesson collection or as a high-end investment piece.

I'm parting with this one as I’m scaling back my collection to allocate funds to my son

Must meet in Athens, GA. I can also ship if needed, or meet in Atlanta on Thursday afternoons along my route. My schedule with my son keeps me close to home otherwise.

That’s a great looking model 27 !!
Them long bbl guns look so much better in Nickle than blue IMO ….. a lot of them do anyhow !
GLWS , I think it should go pretty quick to the right collector !
I wish I had funds for it.
