Item Description: Looking to trade a Merkel Combination Gun Model 200E

Manufactured in West Germany during the Cold War these amazing guns are suited for multiple hunting needs.

This gun come with two barrels, one in 12 gauge while the other is a rifle! Chambered in 7x57r this common European cartridge is very similar to the .308. Light recoil and flat shooting. Additionally, the rifle trigger has the capability to be a ‘hair trigger’. Simply pull the trigger forward until it clicks and the slightest pull sets it off. Great for taking longer shots.

Also included is a high quality Zeis scope with a quick detach device. The scope is 1.5x6 power and uses the traditional German post style aiming point.

Plus…. The gun comes with an extra barrel in 12 gauge O/U.

All set up this sells for well over $4,500 on gun broker but I will part with the set for $3,250 or an interesting trade.

Trade interests include Staccato, high quality IDPA guns or something unique.

From the Merkel factory I obtained the following data on the gun.

We could find out that the gun with serial number XXXXX was manufactured as O/U-Shotgun (model 200E) with O/U-Combination interchangeable barrel in 1974. The following technical information about this gun is available:
Caliber = 12/70 (12/70 – 7x57R)
Barrel length = 71 cm (65 cm)
Choke combination = ½ - 1/1
Trigger = rear set trigger
Engraving = Eng. arabesques

If one insists on beauty, buy a British gun. If one insists on a gun that shoots, buy a German gun. Bear in mind that no amount of engraving ever makes a gun a better gun. The fit and finish is as good as any H&H, Purdy, or Rigby ever made
