Item Description: Pure blood red "pit bull" 7 months old parents were both AKC registered AmStaffs, however he doesn't meet the color requirements. Very smart, super athletic, ( he ran stride of stride with a doe until she hit high gear) house and crate trained, comes and sits at the snap of a finger. Follows verbal commands. Comes with crate. Trade doesn't haven to be of equal value asking as its something cool or useful. Interested in HDTVs, shotguns, revolvers , knives, tomahawks, guitars, amps, I'd love an 1860 army reproduction, gas grill, laptops, desktops, don't be shy, make an offer.

Pits can not be AKC. Not recognized by that kennel club. Coloration plays no part in it.

very true, they can be apba, ukc, ckc, and aba registered but not akc. only way to register it is to classify it as american staffordshire terrier

Ok, I wrote that off the cuff, and I may have gotten the details wrong. Glad someone was there to catch it. They said registered, I guess I assumed AKC. The flesh color on the nose, and the fact that he's not a solid color are the reasons I was told he couldn't be registered. I'll re write it after a little more research. Thanks.

Apologies, my gf just informed me of the philosophy below:

"The AKC recognizes the American Staffordshire Terrier.Once the same breed as the APBT,the AKC changed the name when they began to register the AmStaff in 1936.The AKC did not want to be associated with the name Pit Bull and the history that came with it."

His parents were registered AmStaffs. He meets breed standard:
