They will cruise all day at 60+ mph without missing a beat and will return an amazing 25+ mpg. These are truly some of the finest built vehicles in the world and were built using the finest materials in the world including ultra high grade high Gauge steel and Zinc plated hardened grade 5 metric bolts. You can take these things apart a hundred times and never deal with a rusted bolt. Mitsubishi claims that these hand assembled vehicles cost them over $20,000 apiece to produce in 1980's. They are truly built like tanks and will outlast most of their owners.

In 1953 Mitsubishi secured the rights to build the Willys under their own name and the Mitsubishi Jeep was born. In the USA the Willys was built till 1965 but in Japan Mitsubishi had a good thing going so they kept the line in production till 1998. The beauty of the Willy's body style coupled with the strong and reliable Japanese engineered drive train. There were three engine options, the Mitsubishi 4DR5 2.7L 4 cyl Diesel ,4DR6 Direct Injection Turbo Diesel, Mitsubishi 5G52 Astron 2.0L 4 cyl.Gas engine.

Unlike the original Willys versions the Mitsubishi versions were "modernized"
Effective heat and defrost
Larger boosted brakes
modern engines and transmissions
modern Dana axles and transfer cases,
Modern Heavy duty electrical systems
Good towing capacity
