Item Description: Ok. What we have here is a situation where I thought I was going to do something really cool and honestly, just lost interest in it and started working on another "bright idea".
I'm running out of room in the safe and someone else may enjoy this more than I currently am. I bought this gun set up this way, so I didnt get far enough into the project to "bubba" it up any further.
Here it is:
JM stamped Marlin 336 in 30-30 Win. Serial number dates the gun to 1982. No silly cross bolt safety on this one. The previous owner and I must have been thinking along the same lines. The wood stock was replaced with black synthetic one. XS lever scout rail added and sights replaced with XS peep sights. Has a hammer spur attached to hammer.
There are light rust spots on both sides and on the barrel. But not bad AT ALL and I'd be happy to send closer pictures of these areas.
20 inch barrel.
I think my price is fair. Look up what the XS rail and prep sights are running (https://www.xssights.com/Detail.aspx?PROD=993388&CAT=8291) and then think what you are actually paying for a JM stamped pre cross bolt safety real Marlin.
