Very slick.
The “T” in the shield stamp on the slide indicates the action has been tuned by renowned pistol smith Teddy Jacobson. “Actions By “T.”
Two factory magazines included.

The 3913 that I own has a silver-gray anodized receiver.
The 3914s had the black receiver, but the model number on this one clearly shows 3913.
Has the reciver been painted or coated?

Good catch. I don’t have a definitive answer, but here is a comment on a post I made on S&W forum shortly after I bought it, concerning Actions by T, and the finish:

“Action by T are very fine custom jobs. GREAT triggers on the two I have gotten to shoot.
While I learned long ago to never say never when it comes to the S&W of the 80s and 90s, I agree with my friend XXXX. The black finish on the frame is likely not factory. And given the marking on the slide, likely done by T. It might be worth a call to Actions by T and give them your serial number to see if they have a record of the work done on that gun.”

I emailed Actions by T with the sn and Model. The reply stated that all his records are in a loose leaf file, and would need the name of the customer, and the date the gun was sent. The person who sold me the gun said it had belonged to a long-time Atlanta PD officer, whose name he did not know.

I don’t think there is any doubt that the finish on the frame isn’t factory.
I think it is very attractive, though.

I know my 3913TSW has one of the smoothest crispest triggers Ive seen. I cant imagine what one would be like having been worked on by Mr Jacobson. I bet its a treat.
