Item Description: This Model 586 was built around 1980 and appears to be unfired. I bought it from an owner of a large gun collection from South Alabama and it was one of his personal guns that he had owned for many years. He said he knew it was Factory engraved because he had called Smith&Wesson when he was negotiating buying the gun but he didn’t want to spend the $200.00 plus for a Factory Letter so I did the same I called the S&W number and described the revolver and in just a few minutes was told that a revolver with that serial number left the plant factory engraved as I had described with Target Stocks. Trigger and Hammer. This is a very difficult gun to photograph but try to look through that and see the beauty that is this gun.
Price picked up here in Tallapoosa is: $1,435.00 I prefer you have a Carry Card.
I have a very special Keith .44 Magnum up town in the Gun Shop that receives my FFL’S that came in yesterday but I didn’t feel like going up to get it but I will go today. It was built whatever year they were built 1977? and has never been loaded or had the cylinder turned. It comes with the original shipping box and all paperwork, warranty card, NFA propaganda, tools if any were included and the Inscribed Wood Display Case. This gun was one of several bought by a Museum in Arizona and just stored away until they reduced a few just recently. I am a big fan of Elmer Keith and the man he was and I think I have all of his books, HELL I WAS THERE and SIX GUNS especially and thought about keeping this special revolver but my candle is burning on the short end and I have so many true friends by selling them a gun on the ODT I guess I need a fresh supply because as heavy as I am getting I may have to have a few extra Pallbearers. If you are interested in seeing this gun give me a call and I should have some pictures by Sunday Morning.
Price on this one is $1,000.00 more than I gave for it $1,500.00.
Thanks Again ODT.

That is a crazy cheap price for a factory engraved gun.
They were priced at around $2000 at gun shows decades ago when a 686 sold for about $425
Not my kind of thing, but there are people who love them.
