Item Description:
These two rifles came from the estate of a World War II veteran. One is a Mauser Argentina made in Berlin. I have a picture that shows the actual model etc. It has a Bushnell scope mounted to it so I assume that the owner used it for hunting. The other rifle is a unknown name Japanese rifle. As seen in the picture it has some Japanese writing and a Sunburst design engraved on top. I was told that on a lot of these rifles that was filed off before they were sold because that design was the Emperors crest and he did not want it on the rifle. That rifle has a flip up sight . Both rifles need to be restored, However they are a great antique for someone that just wants to collect them. The Mauser is 7.65 x 53. I am not sure on the Japanese rifle. I am asking 100 each.

Yep, Had one of these and it is 7.7 Jap. Mine shot good but was beat up from the WAR. I still have some 7.7 ammo but no rifle. It was brought back by my wife's uncle and I gave it to her Brother after he LOST his.

Both rifles have been bubba'ed The Jap rifle has an intact chrysthansioum, bolt is turned down and is the safety is a "last ditch" variety, it's missing the aircraft wings but based on the safety they were probably not on it to begin with. Take a picture of the side of the rifle, that tells you what arsenal made the rifle. That's the starting point, from there numbers matching etc.

The jap is a type 38. The top Japanese character is a 3, next one down is a 8, bottom character means "type". This would shoot 6.5 x50 ammunition. I wish it was a type 99 as I am always lokki g for a good sporter.
