I'm new to the site, and have a question. I keep seeing items as listed For Trade, would it be bad form to ask if they'd be open to trading for cash??

Also what is the thought behind wanting to trade but not sell? I'd think it if they sold the item, then that opens you up to a lot more buyers, then when you want buy the other item you have a lot more sellers.

There are a couple of reasons to Trade only.

One is that money tends to find its way to other things, such as bills or the wife's pocket book. Where a trade keeps the "gun money" separate from other stuff.

The second is that gun stuff is like adult Pokemon cards. Of course we could go buy a pack at the local comic book shop, but it is more fun to trade.

For me, if an ad says "trade only" I respect that and won't offer a cash deal.

I just re-read that and should have said "Pokemon cards for adults". Instead in reads as if I collect Pokemon porno, which I don't. But it's Saturday night, I'm drinking, and I just don't give a ****.

BP covered trade but not sell pretty good even with perverted Pokemon cards tossed in. As you see there are some warped folks who frequent here.
